The cute little dead girl

This is my very first post on our blog! I know I've been lazy, but I've had too much to do lately, so I haven't been focusing on my blog. Shame on me.

Anyways...

I bet some of you out there have heard about Lenore, the cute little dead girl. If you haven't, then you should really check it out!

Lenore is a fictional character created by Roman Dirge, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Lenore". Lenore appeared in several comic books, but then she got her own comic book. There's also been made short flash movies about Lenore.
To make it short: Lenore is a ten year old girl who rose from the dead and went living in a mansion with a bunch of weird and slighty creepy friends. The comics and the short movies are full of dark humor! It's great! And the cuteness level is very high as well, in my opinion.
There's probably alot more to say about this cute little undead, but I'll let you peeps discover her by yourself!

Enjoy.

He knew Paris was for lovers. He just didn't think they were all hers.

During this vacation I have seen a lot of movies, vacations are almost always filled with movie watching... First I want to write about this little French movie I saw, Two Days in Paris. It's a movie about a couple, the woman(Julie Delpy) is from France and the man(Adam Goldberg) is from USA, and they both live in New York. They decide to make a trip to Europe and stay two days in Paris. They argue all the time and they always discuss about things... The girl's family don't speak English really well and some culture clash occur, which makes it very funny. The man also finds out that the girl has had many lovers and that she is still friends with some of them, something she does not find odd. They are very weird together, but cute as well. It's not a typical romantic comedy, which I find often very silly. I found it really funny and cute, it's an easy-seen movie, I liked it a lot.

Le Monde est Suspendu

I have been waiting for a new album from Emilie Simon for a long time now, I wish she could hurry up! She is one of my favorite artists. Emilie Simon does electro music, some would say it's trip-hop. She is French, so she sings both in French and in English. She has released three albums, one of them is the soundtrack for the movie La Marche de L'empereur. Her first album is called Emilie Simon, it's really good. My favorite album though, is Vegetal, her second album. I think that this album is just perfect, I have listened to it like 1000 times. All the songs are amazing. I really admire her, because she is so talented and so smart. She invents her own instruments with her friend and band member. It really makes a special sound.

Umibe no Kafuka

Haruki Murakami is definitely one of my favorite writer. He comes from Japan, and has written several books. I think that I have read almost all his books. My favorite one though, must be Kafka on the Shore. I could probably say it's the best book I have ever read, a masterpiece.

It's about two persons, a 15 year old boy and an old man. They both have two different, but parallel stories. The boy runs from home and meets a young man named Oshima. The old man named Nakata is mentaly retared but can talk to cats. Something happens to him, and he has to run away. The whole book is so well written, very weird but so captivating! It somewhat reminds me of Lynch, because of the absurd things that happens, and that are never explained.

To name some good books by Murakami: Norwegian Wood, After Dark and Sputnik Sweetheart. All of them are really good. They are all written like dreams, you don't really know what's real, and what's not.

Trust No One. Deceive Everyone

Yesterday I was at the movies with my friends and saw the new movie Body of Lies. It's a spy movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. It's about a CIA agent (Leonardo) who goes to Jordan to track a high-ranking terrorist. He falls in love with an Iranian woman named Aisha, but has some problems with the people he works with, especially with the man who is head of the Jordanian General Intelligence Department.

The film was OK, but a little bit too already-seen. The man from the Jordanian Intelligence Department played very good in this movie though, he made it worth seeing I thought. Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe were also great, I just thought the scenario was boring...

A Baptism of Fear Awaits You

Yesterday I saw a Swedish movie called Hannah med H. I heard about it because The Knife made the whole soundtrack. It's about a girl who meets a man called Jens, he is about 40 and says that he is married. She starts showing interest in him, but soon she finds something weird about him. Someone is calling her at night, but never says anything, she gets the feeling of being watched. She also meets two boys, one from Bosnia who can't swim so she starts helping him. The other one is an anti-racist and society involved skinhead.

I thought the movie was quite good, I thought the story was interesting, but I didn't really like the end... And some of them did not play very well. The music fitted very well to the movie. All in all I think it's worth seeing, but I don't think it's a fantastic film.

In the evening I started to watch the series Riget (or The Kingdom) by Lars Von Trier. It looks very very good, it's quite mystical. It reminds me of David Lynch... The story takes place in a hospital where weird things happens, supernatural things. There are a lot of comical elements that makes the series less serious, this is why it reminds me of David Lynch. I have only seen the first episode, but now I will watch the second!

A Touch of Mystery

As I was zapping on TV two days ago, I came across the series Pushing Daisies....and wow! I really liked it! It's different from other series on TV, very different. The funny thing is that while watching it I immediately thought that it looked like a mix between Tim Burton(especially Big Fish) and Jeunet & Caro, and guess what, the director of the movie said that his primal source of inspiration came from the movie Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain and Tim Burton.

The series is about a man who has some weird powers, he can bring people to life again by touching them, but if he touches the person again the person dies forever. The other thing is that when he brings someone to life again, after 1 minute another person dies. He uses his powers with a man who is a police man, to find out how people die. This means that he brings people to life again, asks them some questions, and then touches them again so that he won't kill someone else. In the first episode, he brings back he's first love back to life again, and hasn't the heart to touch her again. They start living together, but they have to be constantly cautious not to touch each other.
